Share Iloilo: Batchoy

When you say Iloilo, probably the first food that you’ll have in mind is Batchoy. My hometown is also famous for countless food that embraces the heart and soul like Pancit Molo and Biscocho. There are various refreshments and restaurant which serves authentic Ilonggo dishes even decade before I was born. In this millennial age, food spots in Iloilo City is alive and on its peak – giving Ilonggos and tourists a new and exciting flavor everyday.

Whether it is a hot summer day or cold rainy night, there is one bowl that is being well-loved and will never get out of trend – Batchoy. I’ll Pride even wrote a rap-song about it which was really famous way back my elementary days. Aside from the famous Ted’s and Deco’ (which have many branches nationwide) let me take you to some places which you might also want to check out soon!

Netong’s Original Special La Paz Batchoy

Located inside the public market of La Paz, there is a Batchoy spot you can find. The first time we went there was definitely not the last time. It has the magic that will make you even come back for more after finishing a whole meal. Good news is that you never have to go too far in the La Paz district. Netong’s have a newly-opened branch in Atria Iloilo.

Aside from Batchoy, they are also serving rice meals and more all at decent prices.

Toto Batchoy

If you are around downtown area or Calle Real Center., you can head to Amigo Terraces Hotel and check out Toto Batchoy. It is a good place to unwind and catch up with friends while savoring the warmth of the good food.

Aside from Batchoy, the place is also serving silog meals at an affordable price.

Lars Buko Batchoy

Lars Buko Batchoy is the 2016’s Best Fusion Dish in ChoosePhilippines awards. It is located in the district of Mandurriao and here you can taste the sweetly prepared buko batchoy serve in Coconut. Coconuthoy as to what it is being coined, the batchoy is literally served in coconuts as bowls.

Aside from Coconutchoy, you can also try their merienda coco specials like cocopao and coco burger.
